Ethan Lawrence Williams was born on June 19, 1997 in Washington, DC to Amy and Karl Williams of Arlington, Virginia. Ethan passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 20, 2020 at the age of 22 after a four month battle with HLH.
Ethan is survived by his parents, Amy and Karl, his sister Katarina, his two brothers, Christian and Phillip, his four grandparents, Kenneth Gittings of Naples Florida, Janice Gittings of Cape May, NJ and Donald and Maria Williams of Alpine, NJ, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and an army of friends.
Ethan was employed at Ernst & Young where he worked as a technology consultant to the US Government. Ethan graduated with honors from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA in 2019. He was a proud Hokie and served as President of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He attended Saint Stephen’s and Saint Agnes School and Grace Episcopal School both in Alexandria, VA.
Ethan was passionate about sports, playing competitive tennis, hockey and soccer. He was also truly gifted musically and taught himself to play guitar and piano. Additionally, Ethan could always be found organizing a high-stakes poker game and crushing it every time.
Ethan was a devoted fan of DC sports, with particular enthusiasm for the Washington Capitals and the Nationals. Witnessing these two teams win the Stanley Cup and the World Series were some of the top highlights of his life.
Ethan was blessed to have traveled extensively around the world with his family and friends. He had the opportunity to visit many countries to include Anguilla, Antigua, Austria, Canada, China, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Guadalupe, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Spain, St. Barths, St. Kitts, St. Martin, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. He lived an incredible blessed and happy life even in a short 22 years.
Most importantly, Ethan was family focused, and absolutely loved his sister, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and parents. Blessed with many friends, Ethan cherished each and every one of them. May Ethan rest in peace as he lights up the Heavenly realm with his personality plus and magic smile. He will be loved forever.
