IN THE CARE OF
Murphy Funeral Homes
Elizabeth (Libby) Lay went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ quietly and gently on Friday, May 8, 2020. She was born in Wellington, KS in 1921, the oldest of three children, growing up in and around Wichita, KS. She was predeceased by her first husband, Benjamin McLean (died during the Battle of the Bulge in Belgium during World War II), her second husband of nearly 50 years, Homer B. Lay and her eldest grandson, Daniel Birdseye. She led a long and impactful life and passed away at 98 years old of natural causes. She is survived by a large family including 4 children, Marilyn (Wally) Birdseye, Martha (Richard) Compton, Steve Lay and Anne (Gary) Amodeo, 13 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She consistently demonstrated love for others and was committed to the Lord. She was such a positive and fun-loving woman who never uttered a complaint- we will miss her immensely. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations made to Samaritan's Purse. Funeral arrangements are pending in Arlington, VA.
