Donna Paulsen Anderson, 93 passed away at the Virginia Hospital Center on June 19, 2024. Donna was born September 19,1930 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to parents Herman Keller Paulsen and Ferne Ruth Engel Paulsen.
Education included the Holcombe Public Schools, University of Wisconsin Madison 1948-53 graduating with a BA and MA in Russian language and literature. In 1951 she attended Middlebury college in Vermont. Donna did research writing on the cold war for the National Security Agency, Central Intelligence Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency. She lived first in Georgetown, Wesley Heights and then her last 54 years were spent in Arlington, Virginia.
She was married to Raymond Harold Anderson 1954-1961. She married Vladimir Boris Grinioff May, 12,1998. Donna was a community leader at Barcroft School and Civic leagues and Arlington County Federation. Donna ran a Bed and Breakfast in Dewey Beach, Delaware starting in 1968. Her interests were music, reading, gardening, people, and pets having had a dog, cats, and a ferret. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, DC.
She is survived by her sister, Elva Kay Wiles; nieces, Debora Lee Kostick (Ken), Nicolette Rae Sturino (Steve), Anne Marie Blakemore (Dwayne), Lisa Katherine Broer (Konrad), Janel Renee Woodcock (Steve), and nephews, Roger Wayne Paulsen (Mary Jo), David Hitch, and many cherished family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vladimir Boris Grinioff; parents, Herman Keller Paulsen and Ferne Ruth Engel Paulsen; brothers, Ivan Lawrence Paulsen, Betty Eileen Paulsen, and Wayne Herman Paulsen. Sisters: Katherine Paulsen Burns Hansen, Rosella Ann Paulsen. Nephew James Davy Wiles and Niece Cynthia Sue Hitch.
Donna's services will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 10 0'clock at St. Nicholas Cathedral, 3500 Massachusetts Ave N. W. Washington D.C.
