Charles Lee Metcalf died peacefully in Virginia Hospital Center on Thursday, October 30, 2014, aged 65 after a long illness. He will be sadly missed by his longtime fianceé, Chancie McRae and dog, Chanusse McRae and many friends as someone who had a ready smile. He was generous in sharing anecdotes from his rich and varied life experiences as a mystery writer and a cheerful and interested listener.
