Victoria “Vicki” Lynn Fisher Thedford was born to Otho Q. “Bud” Fisher, Sr. and Betty Marie Fisher on September 29, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas. Vicki was the second of three children, and the first daughter. The family moved around Texas following her father’s career with Western Electric, and ultimately settled back in Ft. Worth. She spent her childhood days playing with neighborhood friends, enjoying summers with her grandparents, and taking family vacations to Oklahoma.
Vicki graduated from Everman High School in 1968 and would later earn her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Tarrant County Junior College. She started her professional career at Southland Life Insurance Company as a key-punch operator. She then transitioned into the world of high-end jewelry as a buyer for the Zale Corporation at their Diamond Park Headquarters. Ever evolving in her professional pursuits, she moved on from Zales to be an administrator with the non-profit organization North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council, and finally retired as a procurement specialist at Michaels.
Vicki then embarked on a three-month RV adventure to the Western and Southwestern United States with the love of her life, her husband Doug. She and Doug met in 1971 and married in August 1973. They spent their life together growing a family, watching movies, driving the backroads, and exploring the great outdoors.
In the early evening hours of February 15, 2023, Vicki’s adventure in this lifetime came to an end, as she was called back to her heavenly home. Waiting to receive her in heaven were her parents Bud and Betty Fisher, her sister Brenda, her son Michael, and many beloved pets who shared her life through the years.
Those who remain to carry on her spirit of love and laughter include her husband, Douglas Thedford; children Chris Thedford (wife Renata) and April Thedford; grandchildren Kyan Thedford and Aria Thedford; brother Otho Q. “Skip” Fisher, Jr.; beloved cat Geisha and grandpups Tennessee and Zelda; and extended family and friends.
