Shing is survived by his wife, Ada Pang; daughter Crystal Pang; siblings Sing Fong Pang, Chui Lin Mak, Wai Ling (Daisy) Wong, Wai Ming Ma and Sing Kui Pang.
Shing was preceded in death by his parents Cham Lum Pang and So King Pang
When Peter (Shing’s nickname) came to the United States, he was 9 years old in 4th grade and knew very little English. Despite hardships, he achieved his Electrical Engineering degree, MD in Medical Doctor, and PHD/MSSW in Social Work. Peter graduated as an Electrical Engineer and worked for General Dynamic for a short time before he attended UT medical school at San Antonio.
He then interned at UT Southwestern medical school in Dallas and eventually purchased his own medicine clinics. He then changed his career path and became a college professor that taught social work at UT Arlington and a counsellor at numerous facilities in the DFW area. He was not only a teacher but also a mentor to his students and co-worker. He also served the community and is a Board Member for United Community Centers from July 2012 to Present.
Peter was a hardworking, reliable, self-driven man who loved his family and relatives dearly. He enjoyed the family gatherings at Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday parties, and weddings.
He will be greatly missed.
