Roman was born on January 30, 2007 in Arlington, TX to Rodolfo Garcia and Christina Dawn Vickers Garcia.
Early in life his family learned that Roman's life and health would be difficult to manage. Through all the tests, research, questions, hope and prayers, Roman always had a smile. Even though he was small, frail and fragile, Roman fought, he fought like a lion. No matter what life threw his way he always managed that big smile of his.
Roman, in his short life was an inspiration to everyone. Without even realizing he taught his parents the true meaning of love. He showed enormous strength and amazing courage and in doing so showed others that they can handle things they never thought imaginable. Roman loved kisses and hugs. He may not have known much, but he knew how to love. He really liked music also, you couldn't help but smile as you watched his little body move to the music. Oh and his loved his big brother, Zak. When Zak walked into the room Roman would talk his own language (baby bable) and his eyebrows would make his face light up with excitement. The last 2 years were very tough for Roman and his family. In the end, Roman just got tired of fighting the battle. His heart was pure and he was loved by everyone who met him including the entire racing community.
Roman received such wonderful care over the years and his family wishes to thank all who have helped through this journey, with a special thanks to Kathy, Miriam and Godwin. Many thanks also go to Dr. Angel Hernandez, the entire staff at Cook Children's Hospital and so many others, for their loving attention and care through all these years. Roman had a gift of loving everyone and he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him too.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia Vickers, Olivia Garcia and Carlos Garcia, Sr.
Roman is survived by his parents, Rudy and Christy Garcia; his brother, Zakary Garcia; his uncles, Carlos Garcia Jr. and Orlando Garcia; his many great aunts, great uncles and cousins; his special "aunt" Laura Fazio; as well as all his friends in the racing community who continue their love and support.
