Richard was born on November 27, 1931 to Alfred and Irene Bohls in Omaha, Nebraska. He married the love of his life, Mary “Anne” Jensen on November 14, 1951. Richard served in the U.S. Army Hq and Svc Co, 61st Engr. Const. Bn. During the Korean War, Decorations include: Korean Svc Medal with 6 Bronze Service Stars, CIB, Dist Unit Emblem, Good Conduct Medal.
Richard loved building Experimental Airplanes, Radio Control Airplanes, Photography, building computers, wood carving, oil painting, vehicle restorations, and helping people.
Those preceding him in death are his wife, Anne Bohls of 64 years, brother Victor Bohls, daughter, Sheila Nylund, grandson, Eric Nylund.
Survivors: sisters, Mary Jane Metz and Virginia “Ginny” Driver, sons, Richard Neil Bohls, Jr., Glen Bohls, daughters, Shirley Stratton and husband Phillip, Sylvia Stanley and husband Randy, son, Shawn Bohls, 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. An Interment & Military Honors will occur Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
