Fr. Prior Dominic-Hanh, Nguyen Duc Hanh, OSB

Father Dominic became a Benedictine Monk in Vietnam and continued as a Benedictine at Christ in the Desert Monastery, located in Abiquiu, New Mexico. On November 24, 2022, he celebrated his 30th Anniversary as a Benedictine Monk.

He studied at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire and after graduating he returned to New Mexico where he was Ordained a Priest on June 24, 2004.

Father then went to Rome to study Canon Law for several years and returned to the United States and founded the Benedictine Monastery of Thien Tam which celebrated its thirteen anniversary on September 19th, 2022.

Prior Dominic was a devout and loving priest whose life was based on following the Rule of St. Benedict, caring for his Brothers, and always willing to assist those in need. He enjoyed visits with his father and spending time with family. He started Blessed Sacrament Days for the faithful to come experience Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament, Marian Devotion, seminars, confessions, youth groups, and oneness with Our Lord. June 2022 was the thirteen year of Blessed Sacrament Days.

Funeral Mass and burial will be held at the Benedictine Monastery of Tam, 13055 SE County Road 4271, Kerens, TX 75144 on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Mass in Pavilion No. II, followed by burial in the Thien Tam Cemetery. Reception to follow.
