Patsy Nell Ramsey

Patsy Nell Brandes Ramsey was born on June 27, 1932 to Erich Brandes and Mary Anna Grace Gary in Ganado, Texas. By the age of 1, Patsy’s family had moved from Ganado to El Paso, Texas.

Patsy had two sisters - Shirley Brandes and Billy Cawley. Patsy graduated as Valedictorian of her El Paso High School graduation class.

On November 3, 1951, Patsy married her husband of 58 years, Charles Thomas Ramsey. They had 4 sons, Gary Hill (wife Kathy), Thomas Lynn (wife Debra), Erich Michael (wife Tracey) and Charles Brandes (wife Sharon). Patsy had 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

As her boys approached college age, after years of raising her children and being a devoted farmer’s wife, Patsy went back to college and received degrees in education and geology. She graduated with honors and went on to teach in the El Paso School District.

She was active in Eastern Star in El Paso where she held many offices including Worthy Matron. She and Tom moved to Arlington in 2002, and they loved to travel until Tom’s death on May 27, 2010. She went to be with God, Tom and family on March 6, 2023 at the age of 90. She was a loving, Christian Mother, and she will be fondly remembered forever.
