Patrick Joseph Hester

Pat was born on May 26, 1941 in Manhattan, NY to Joseph and Bridget Hester. He graduated from Bishop Dubois High School and earned his BA in Economics and Masters in Organizational Behavior from Iona University (formerly Iona College) in New Rochelle, NY.

Pat met the love of his life, Nancy (Byrnes) Hester, while on a blind date through their lifelong friends, Diane and Mike Boyd. They married on November 23, 1963. Together they raised four girls - Patricia, Laura, Danielle, and Andrea. They lived in Yonkers, Peekskill, and Crugers, NY before being transferred with American Airlines to Tulsa, OK and then Arlington, TX.

His great interest was in Nature, Science, and Travel. In the late eighties, he became interested in computers. He built his own computer and belonged to the local computer club in Tulsa, OK. After moving to Arlington, he joined the Mid Cities Computer Club.

Volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Arlington Friends & Foundation gave him pleasure and he made many friends volunteering. He also enjoyed his many friends and neighbors of 29 years in Arlington, TX.

He worked for American Airlines for thirty five years. His position began as a Communications Cost Analyst and he was with this group most of his years at American. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and sharing their benefits with family and friends.

Pat is survived by his wife, Nancy (Byrnes) Hester; children: Patricia (Dwight) Wessner, Laura (Bonnie) Hester, Danielle (Scott) Flanigan, and Andrea (Bill) Koehnlien; and grandchildren: Jackie (Matt) Hagy, Samantha (Jon) Wessner, Lewis Wessner, Ryan Koehnlien, and Maia Koehnlein.

Pat's funeral will be on July 28, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington, TX 76016. Interment will be at Moore Memorial Gardens on 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012.

Nancy and family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Community Hospice for making Pat's last days peaceful and comfortable at the end of his life.
