Mary Marie McCullough, a devout servant of God, completed her earthly journey at the age of 103 and was called home by her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2024, in Arlington, TX. Her departure from this world came peacefully at her residence, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, just a day after the joyful celebration of her 103rd birthday.
Born into the Lord's grace on February 18, 1921, in Merit, TX, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Claude Eugene Molen and Myrtie Lee Molen. She was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven by her beloved husband, Lloyd McCullough Jr., her precious children Herman Douglas Glasscoe and Martha Marie Glasscoe, her dear sisters Clara Emma Kinamon, Lena Pearl Kearney, and Willie Loraine Mayo, and her brothers in Christ, Henry Ford Molen and Herman Eugene Molen.
Mary's life was a living testament to the virtues of humility, gratitude, and respect for all of God’s creation. She served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, nurturing young souls with the seeds of faith and wisdom. In her professional calling as a 4th grade educator in both Celeste and Greenville, Texas, Mary was a beacon of light and knowledge, guiding her students with gentleness and compassion.
Her exemplary service as a Divisional Manager at World Book was marked by divine encounters, including memorable moments with Sir Edmund Hillary and astronaut Buzz Aldrin, as well as a blessed meeting with Bob Hope at a celebratory dinner honoring her earthly achievements. These treasured experiences were kept close to her heart as testimonies of God's abundant blessings.
Mary's passion for exploring God's magnificent creation led her on pilgrimages across the globe, from the historic landscapes of Russia and Italy to the vibrant streets of Hong Kong and Mexico. She also found great delight in the tranquil voyages of cruises, reveling in the splendor of His oceans and skies.
In the quiet sanctuary of her garden, Mary cultivated not only plants and flowers but also a spirit of serenity and devotion. Each blossom was a hymn of praise to the Creator, and every hour spent tending to the earth was a prayer of thanksgiving.
Left to cherish her memory and continue her legacy of faith are her granddaughter Sarah Rivera and her husband Nathan Rivera, her great-grandchildren Zachary Leonard, Olivia Leonard, and "Baby" Rivera, her daughter-in-law Shelly Reese and her husband AW Reese, along with a host of nieces, nephews, step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her loving spirit. Mary's extended family of close friends, whom she held dear as her own kin, also mourn her passing.
A graveside service to celebrate Mary's life and her return to her eternal home will be held at a date yet to be determined. As we honor her memory, we are reminded of the Scripture, "Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of thy Lord" (Matthew 25:23). May her soul find everlasting peace and joy in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
