Mary Catherine Lux, age 100, of Arlington, Texas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 16, 2021. She was born March 15, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was one of 2 children with an older sister Ethel. She met her future husband while working at her parent’s restaurant in Indianapolis. They were married on March 27, 1943 in Post Chapel on Walker Air Base, Roswell, New Mexico and eventually moved to Texas in 1948. They settled in Arlington in 1955 where they raised 4 children. She and her husband were devout Catholics and members of St. Maria Goretti Church for 66 years where she was in the Order of the Holy Sepulchre and a member of the Leisure Club. She and her husband joined Rolling Hills Country Club in 1961. She liked to dance and they attended events and parties that provided her opportunities to have fun with friends. She was active in the community with the Women’s Club of Arlington for over 26 years where she enjoyed the friendship and travel it offered. She also enjoyed volunteering at Arlington Memorial Hospital auxiliary and did so for over 37 years. She received many awards for her service. She developed lifelong relationships with those involved in her bridge club. After her husband’s retirement, they traveled extensively, visiting Hawaii, the Caribbean, Europe, the Holy Land, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. All who knew Mary loved her and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, and husband L. P. (Jerry) Lux of 62 years.
She is survived by her children: Dr. Nicholas E. Lux (wife Lori), Teresa Lux Richardson (husband Roy), Dr. Christopher L. Lux (wife Dalene), Mary A. Lux; 6 grandchildren: Jody Clark, Joseph Lux (wife Ashley), Christine Lux Jagge (husband Scott), Ann Lux Long (husband Brent), Matthew Lux and Catherine Lux. She was also blessed with 7 great grandchildren.
Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church.
