Martha was born in Thorndale, Texas on April 18, 1929 to Guadalupe and Santos Chazarretta. She grew up with 10 siblings. She met and married Mario Ortiz for 34 years, until his death in 1979.
She is survived by her eight children, Carlos (Jhonni), Carmen (Betty), Vera (Jacob), Martha, Alice, Lucy, Hope, Mario Jr. (Mary) and John (Lydia), later in life; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She loved God, family, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, GAMBLING, and in her spare time crocheting and needlework.

A visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A committal service will occur Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
Serving as pallbearers are Andrew Flores, Cindy Rodriguez, Justin Wilson, Camren Wilson, Eddie Murray and Chris Velasquez.
