Lou was born March 19, 1923, in Corsicana. She lived in Arlington most of her life. She attended Epworth United Methodist Church, sang in the choir, and worked as a secretary. Lou loved traveling the world with dear friends. Some of her hobbies were golf, gardening, painting (both oil and watercolor), playing games with friends and family, and reading. She was a faithful Cowboys fan, and liked attending Theater Arlington and other plays and concerts in Dallas.
Lou was a lifelong active member of Beta Sigma Phi and personified the motto "Life, Learning and Friendship" with a strong emphasis on friendship to her sorority sisters. She was a member for over 50 years and held every office at least once during that time. She was a loyal friend and beloved family member and will be greatly missed.
Lou was preceded in death by husband, James F. Marshall; mother, Alice Benefield; brother, Theodore Benefield; sister-in-law, Doris P. Broyles; niece, Pamela D. Broyles; niece, Rebecca A. Stark; and other aunts, uncles and family members.
Survivors: Lou is survived by Hazel Warner and Louise Clarkson of Mabank; Carol Reiger of Rockwall; Robbie Wallace of Lewisville; Beverly Ann and Thomas Stark of Grand Lake, Colo.; Jeffrey T. Stark of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Richard L. Broyles, Ricky Lee and Brigetta Broyles, Loretta Broyles and Victoria Broyles of Cuba, Mo.
