Layton Young

A celebration of his life will be held at Noon on Monday, August 1, at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX. Family and friends are invited to visit at 11 AM at the funeral home. A luncheon reception will immediately follow the service at the funeral home, followed by burial at Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington.

Layton was born on June 4, 1929, in Arlington, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Clark Young. He is survived by a son, Layton Alan Young and spouse June; by three daughters: Judy Young Neil and spouse Bob, Kim Young Hines and spouse Donnie, and Laurie Young; and by eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren who lovingly called him "PeePa". He is also survived by two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

After graduation from Arlington High School, Layton obtained his private and commercial pilot licenses. He became a flight instructor and then crop dusted in Arkansas, where he met and married his wife of 64 years. He flew for and retired from Braniff Airways and was an avid golfer. He loved deer hunting and spending time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will missed by all who knew and loved him.
