Born on June 21, 1937 in Brinkman, Okla., to parents L. Dison and Lela (Presley) Bolding. He attended Mansfield High School and then went on to the University of Texas at Arlington. He played basketball for both schools, a sport he always loved.
He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Mae Johnston, on February 15, 1958, and together they enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage, three children, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A genuine Christian and family man, Kent was always active in his home church, North Davis Church of Christ (once Randol Mill Church of Christ), for almost 50 years, where he held many leadership roles. Also known as “Bobo” (his grandpa name), his love for his family was apparent. He was always active and involved in his children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren’s school and extracurricular activities. And as a huge sports fan, he never missed a Rangers, Mavericks or Cowboys game.
Kent is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronnie Bolding. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, brother Durward Bolding and wife Shari; his three children, James Brent Bolding, Terri Akins and husband Michael, Craig Bolding and wife Crystal; grandchildren James Wayne Bolding, Travis Akins, Ashley Akins Dodd, Lann Bolding, Coby Bolding and Caden Kent Bolding, eight great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
