Judy was born February 25, 1930 to Lula Wall Flanagan and Luther Alexander Flanagan in Dallas, Texas. While she was still a teenager, Judy worked as a carhop at the popular Sivil’s Drive-In in Oak Cliff, and she often loved to entertain her family and friends with stories of her time there and the famous people she served.
Judy married the love of her life, Floyd B. Tyler, Jr., on July 21, 1956 in Leonard, Texas. Judy and Floyd adopted their beloved daughter, Diane Tyler Weidmann in 1963. Judy loved and doted on her two grandchildren, John David Weidmann and Casey Michelle Weidmann. In 2011, Judy welcomed her great-grandchild, Riley Jameson Weidmann, daughter of John D. Weidmann and Sherry Bethune, who quickly became the apple of Grandma’s eye.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, A.T., Earnest, and Raymond Flanagan, and her sisters, Lois Eula Kelly, Lula Carr, Zula Duckworth, and Frances Powers.
SURVIVORS: Her husband, Floyd B. Tyler, Jr.; daughter, Diane Tyler Weidmann; grandson, John David Weidmann and fiancé Sherry Bethune; granddaughter, Casey Michelle Weidmann; great-granddaughter, Riley Jameson Weidmann; great-grandson, Damien Cabrera; sister, Betty Garner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
