Joe was born on March 16, 1949 in Mexico to Graciano and Concepcion Cruz. In 1977 he married the love of his life, Sandra Luz Martinez. After their marriage Joe and Sandra moved to Illinois where they wanted a new beginning in the United States. In 1984 they settled in Arlington, Texas where they raised two sons, Paul and Michael.
In 1980, Joe graduated from Elgin Community College in Elgin, Illinois where he received an Associate's Degree in Plastics Technology. Joe's time in the plastics industry spanned over 40 years with 14 years working as a Polyurethane Production Supervisor for Mid-South Roller where he worked until the time of his death.
Joe had a passion for classic cars, politics and kept up with all the current events. There was not a thing he could not fix or make work and never an impossible task. He was an exemplary father to his sons, there was not a moment when he was unhappy and always had a big smile. Joe was always willing to lend a hand where needed, never met a stranger and had a cheerful personality that made others laugh. He made a friend out of anyone that crossed his path.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Sandra and his children, Paul (Bonnie) and Michael.
Jose is survived by his brothers and sisters; Ricardo Cruz and wife Lety, Altagracia Rodriguez and husband Jesus, Enrique Cruz and wife Josefina, Yolanda Marrosu and husband Antonio, Graciano Cruz and wife Priscilla, and Maria Asuncion Cruz; many nieces, nephews, other family and many friends, all who will miss him deeply.
He is preceded in death by his father, Graciano Cruz and his mother, Concepcion Briones.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm followed by a Funeral Services on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Moore Bowen Road Chapel in Arlington, Texas. Cremation will take place at a later date.
