John "Jack" Sheridan

He and his wife, Charlotte were married for 58 years and had three children, Laura, Brook and Jason; and four grandchildren, Britney, Bret Jr, Kennedy and Emerson, and two great-grandchildren, Jace and Brinley.

Jack was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and attended catholic schools in New Jersey and New York. Following three years in the U.S. Army, he came to Texas and attended Sam Houston State University from 1957-61.

While at Sam Houston he and Dr. Ferol Robinson, head of the journalism department, found a friendship that lasted more than 50 years.

Jack spent more than 40 years in journalism, advertising and public relations in Houston. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Houston Area Muscular Dystrophy Association for eight years and on the Sam Houston State University Journalism Advisory Council for 12 years.

A visitation for John will be held Friday, May 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
