Jessie Belle Barton

Memorial Service: Friday, December 17, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. Friends and Family will gather at 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Pebblebrook Village Clubhouse.

Jessie was one of nine children born in North Texas and New Mexico to John and Belle Barnes. She married J.R. (Bob) Barton in Tucumcari, New Mexico in 1935 and lived most of her life in New Mexico as Bob moved up in the ranks of Southern Union Gas Company.

In 1951, Bob and Jessie adopted a son, Bobby, and the family lived in Belen, New Mexico until 1970. Following her husband's death in 1970, Jessie continued to live in Albuquerque and was an active member of Del Norte and Hoffmantown Baptist churches. Jessie moved to Pebblebrook Village in Arlington, Texas in 2000 and was an active member of Lamar Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Bob and Tracey Barton, sister Evelyn Ford Nolan and family, and many nieces and nephews from the Barnes, Brown, Davis, and Thomas families. She was proceeded in death by her husband Bob and seven of her brothers and sisters from the Barnes family: brothers Pete, Wiley, Bill, Ralph, and Dick, and sisters Vi and Rene.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Auxiliary to Texas Health Arlington Memorial or Community Hospice of Texas, 800. W. Randol Mill Road, Arlington, Texas 76012
