Jere was born May 25, 1941 in Denison, Texas. He grew up in Artesia, New Mexico where he graduated from high school. After a few years in college and the United States Army, Jere became a pavemnet and concrete construction estimator in Dallas. He spent the rest of his years working in the construction business in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and Houston.
Jere loved life and did all he could to enjoy it and enjoyed those around him. Jere was often described to others he did not know, as " the guy with the hair and mustache" - both of which he sported for his entire adult life. He was a fan of cars and trucks and enjoyed owning many of them. He was also a boat owner for many years and again, made sure he owned the fastest ones and the cleanest ones. Dirt and clutter were sins and he never tolerated it when it came to a possession that he owned - whether it be house, car or boat. He was also an avid golfer and for a few years, an avid scuba diver. Life was meant to be savored and Jere was one of its champions. Mexican food was another pleasure and the Mexican food resturants in the DFW area have lost one of their favorite customers.
His health suffered these past couple of years but the staff at Arlington Memorial Hospital, Doctors, nurses and anyone that had a part in trying to make him whole again were always there to help him. In his troubled times, the mountain was finally too tall to climb.
