

Janice McAfee passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and grace. A woman of deep faith, generous hospitality, and quiet strength, Janice lived a life full of purpose, joy, and devotion.
Janice built a remarkable and trailblazing career in real estate, becoming one of the most successful and respected brokers in her area. Known for her professionalism, determination, and genuine care for her clients, she was considered an icon in the industry. Her name was synonymous with excellence, and her influence helped shape the community she served.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Janice was best known for her warmth and devotion to those she loved. She found great joy in caring for her home and her many beautiful gardens, in shopping for clothes and always looking her best, and in opening her doors to family and friends with a welcoming heart. She also loved traveling with her husband John to their home in Colorado and their lake home at Possum Kingdom, where they made many cherished memories together.
She was a proud and loving grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her faith was the foundation of her life. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Arlington, Janice worshiped and served faithfully well into her eighties, always anchored by her love for her Lord and Savior.
Janice is survived by her daughter JoLynn Carney and husband Mike; granddaughter Amy and husband Blair Brown; grandsons Jesse Anderson and Jeremy Fretwell, Rusty Baker and wife Brittany, and Josh Anderson; her sister Cindy McCormick; brother Charlie Chatham and wife Dene; and her beloved great-grandsons Hudson and Rhodes Brown. She also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John McAfee; her daughter, Jan Anderson; grandson John Baker; and her brothers Jim and George Chatham.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas.
Janice’s legacy of love, faith, and hospitality will live on in the lives of all who knew her.
