Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel.
Harold was born in Sanger on Aug. 15, 1921, to James Monroe Sims and Mary Belle Stevens Sims. He had five siblings, brothers, Roy, Herman, Velder and J.M., and sister, Edna Mae Wolfe, who all preceded him in death. His wife, Alta, also preceded him in death.
Harold served in the Marines before and during World War II. He was stationed in Iceland, the Pacific area, Marshall Islands and China. He retired from General Dynamics after over 40 years of service. He was an active grandfather and never tired of caring for his grandchildren.
Survivors: Sons, James D Sims of Weston, John L. Sims of Evergreen, Colo., Michael P. Sims of Arlington; daughter, Shirley Sims Summers of Dallas; daughters-in-law, Linda Sims and Donna Sims; son-in-law, Herbert Summers; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
