Harold Eugene Hines passed at the age of 82 after battling illness for over two months. Harold was born in Hanceville, Alabama to Reverend Floyd E. Hines and Pearl I. Hines. Harold grew up in Warrior, Alabama where he graduated from Warrior High School in 1953. It was in high school that he met Faye Eidson and married her in 1953. In that same year he joined the Army National Guard, where he served until 1962. He was called to active duty from 1961 to 1962 for the Berlin Wall Crisis.
In 1967, he moved his wife and three boys to Arlington, Texas where he began his career in general construction management. He and Faye lived in Arlington until 1985 when they moved to Corsicana, Texas. Harold and Faye were married for 43 years, until her death in 1996. After Faye’s death he married Carlena “Kaye” Hines in 1997. Harold and Kaye lived in Corsicana for almost 16 years, until Kaye’s death in 2013. Harold then moved back to Arlington, where he lived until his death.
Harold was active in the American Legion in Corsicana and in Arlington and was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Moose Lodge in Arlington.
Harold is survived by his sons, Michael Hines and wife Laurie, Barry Hines and wife Goldie, Morris “Evan” Hines and wife Lorie, stepchildren Chad Bingham, Cassandra Garcia, and Crystal Bingham, his sister Ruth Russell, his sister-in-law Shirley Slappy, and his mother-in-law Callie “Marie” McClendon.
Harold is also survived by his ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and five nephews and nieces and many friends.
A visitation for Harold will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas. A memorial service will occur Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 4:00 PM, Moore Funeral Home, and a reception will follow the service, in the main hall of the funeral home.
