On the Lord’s day of February 28th, 2021, Carla “Elaine” Salmons Vincent passed into her new life in Heaven from her daughter’s home in Garland, Texas after a long bout with Congestive Heart Failure. A lifelong resident of Grand Prairie, Texas, she was born on December 2, 1951 in McKinney, Texas to Dewey Carl Salmons and Nancy Jo Salmons. On September 7, 1974, she married Larry Dwain Vincent—all three preceded her in death.
Larry and Elaine reared three children together that she leaves behind, daughter, Tonya Marshall Weathers and son-in-law, Paul Weathers; daughter, Jessica Renee Vincent Adames and son, Joseph Vincent. She and Larry shared six grandchildren—Bryson and Sophia “Belle” Weathers, Preston Vincent, Esperanza Elaine Adames, Joey and Summer Vincent.
She is survived by her older brother Dewayne Salmon and his wife Louise Bass Salmons, preceded in death by her younger brother Mark Salmons. Her favorite charity was Tunnels to Towers, and she also donated to end abortion and human trafficking.
Throughout her adult life, Elaine loved the Lord and shared His great love. She poured her life into her children and friends and had a few close women she referred to as her lifelong honor guard—Caryl McAdoo, Helen Parker, Becky Garland, Janice Carson, Joyce Zuniga and Debbie Prichard all blessed to call her a sister-in-Christ.
Elaine loved road trips, laughing and great adventures. She was a bit introverted, a private person who gave of her time, investing in the lives of those closest to her. She will be sorely missed.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at 1:00 pm at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, Arlington. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
After the service, there will be a procession to Moore Davis Cemetery for the burial. A catered reception will follow at the nearby Lamar Baptist Church at 1000 W. Lamar Blvd., Arlington, TX 76012 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm.
