Edith Margaret Petty

Edith was born to Charles Henry Hicks and Edith Marie Young on April 21, 1934 in Arlington, Texas. In 1952, she graduated from Arlington High School before pursuing a career as a typist. In 1964, Edith married Kenneth Jack Petty and together they celebrated 53 years of marraige.

Edith loved to read and crochet, as well as spend time with her family playing cards. She was an avid sports fan with her favorite teams being the Dallas Cowboys, the University of Texas Longhorns, and the Dallas Stars. Edith was also a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas.

Edith is proceeded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Jack Petty; her parents, Charles Henry Hicks and Edith Marie Young; and her sons, Patrick Otis Petty and William Edward Petty.

Edith is survived by her daughters: Karen Hopkins and, husband, Chris; Barbara Petty; Carla Poole and husband, Dalton; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home on Davis Drive in Arlington, Texas on Thursday, January 2, 2019 from 1:00pm-2:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington, Texas on Thursday, January 2, 2019 on 2:00pm with a commital service to immediately follow.
