Services for Donald C. Redman, 80, who went to be home with the Lord on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Community Care Hospice at Arlington Memorial, are Friday, July 6, at 12:30 pm at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive, Arlington, Texas 76012. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Monsignor Francis Boakye Tawiah, from St. Vincent’s Catholic Church will preside over the service.
Donald was born April 6, 1932 to Carl and Isabell Redman in Emporia, KS. He graduated from Emporia High School and attended Emporia State College. He went on to serve in the Air Force during the Korean War. His career was in the Aerospace Industry and he retired from General Dynamics / Lockheed Martin. Donald loved his family, and he will be missed.
Mr. Redman is preceded in death by his parents and sister Marilyn Laws Porter. He is survived by his wife, LaVada, his children Rene Farkas, Chris Redman, Gerard and his wife Diana Redman, Mary and her husband Michael Alcalan, Tim Redman and Elena Redman. He is also survived by his grand children William Farkas, Valerie, Fred, Josh and his wife Sabrina Alcalan, Charlotte, Curtis and Sean Redman; and Amy and Jeremy Whitson: Four great- grandchildren Lana, Tristin, Kaleb and Ashton Whitson. His wife gave him 10 step children: Walt and Betty Mills, Daniel and Marilyn Mills, James and Geraldine Mills, Thomas and Elizabeth Mills, Vernon and Sharon Barcroft, LaVerna and Mike Smith, Pamela and Jerry Carr, Otis and Ruth Mills, Sandra and Jerry Blankenship, and Richard and Michelle Mills, and many step grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mr. Redman also had many nieces and nephews of Kansas. His dog, Kaytee, and family will miss him dearly. His memory may be honored with a gift to Mary’s House, a day hab which is a special place for special people with special needs, 1611 West Sanford, Arlington, Tx 76012.
