Diane was born in Hammond, Indiana on October 23, 1941 to parents Ralph and Vivian DeVault. She spent her senior year at both Baton Rouge High and Garland High Schools and graduated in 1959. After graduation she started Arlington College, now the University of Texas at Arlington.
Soon she began her career as an insurance underwriter at Wausau Insurance in Dallas. In 1964 Diane moved to Paris, Texas where she had her children Amy and Bill.
In 1987 while living in Arlington, Diane met Mike Grossman and they began dating. On December 26th, 1987, the two married and blended their families. Diane continued working in the insurance industry until 1991, when she joined the family business called Advanced Blending, Inc. After a successful run of nearly 20 years, they sold the business and both she and Mike retired in 2008. After retirement, they enjoyed spending time with their family and grandchildren, and also traveled the world.
Diane was a survivor of multiple recurrences of breast cancer, and participated in Race for the Cure many times. She was a member of St. John’s the Apostle UMC, where she made many friends and spent countless hours volunteering. She especially enjoyed her weekly Thursday Night dinner with her Ladies’ small group.
Diane is survived by her husband Mike; daughter Amy and husband Will Bell; brother Jon and wife Martha DeVault; nephew Corky DeVault; stepson Jimmy and wife Kate Grossman; stepson Michael; and grandchildren Chris Bell, Madeleine Bell, Patrick Grossman, Sam Grossman, Josie Grossman and Oliver Grossman. Diane was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Vivian DeVault, son William Gaylor, and niece Denise Trevenen.
Visitation is Thursday, December 28 from 6:00 – 7:30 at Moore Funeral Home at 1219 N. Davis Dr. in Arlington, Texas. A celebration of life for Diane will be Friday, December 29 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Moore, followed by a reception.
