Chu Le was born in 1931, in Binh Dinh, Vietnam to Le Tham Mai and Nguyen Thi Tin. He was the male primogeniture of his family. At a young age, to access better education, he left his hometown and stayed with his maternal grandmother in Hue, the capital of Vietnam at the time, to pursue his studies. A Quoc Hoc - Hue High School graduate, Chu also graduated from the Thu Duc Military Academy in 1953 with the rank of Second Lieutenant.
While in Hue, he met his beloved wife of 65 years, Bui Thi Kim Toan. In 1964, he graduated special training in the US Army Signal Corps in Washington. He served as Lieutenant Coronel in the Republic of Vietnam Military Forces. Chu served in many honorable positions in his military career.
In 1992, Chu, along with his wife and children, immigrated to the United States through the US program known as Humanitarian Operation (HO) and moved to Arlington, Texas. During his life, Chu was an impactful and passionate member of a variety of associations in the Vietnamese American community of Dallas-Fort Worth. Among them, he was part of the Republic of Vietnam Veterans Association in DFW and was active in the Vietnamese Baptist Church Community.
In 2003, after many years of helping many Vietnamese-American families, he retired from Maximus Health and Wellness Agency.
He enjoyed reading, poetry, collecting stamps, and coins, gardening (he nurtured varieties of cacti), and most importantly, taking drives and antiquing with his wife. His most outstanding achievement in his long life was the love he felt being surrounded by his loving wife and descendants.
He is survived by his sons Nam and Co and his daughters Tiana, Thao, Boi, Diana, and Karen. His legacy carries on through his ten grandchildren: Khoa, Hung, Bryan, Lannie, Leo, Anh Minh, Dang Minh, Christine, Alex, and Bill. Chu is also survived by his seven great-grandchildren: Thinh, Tien, Khang, Nguyen, Linh, Truc Quan, and Minh Quan. All of whom he loved very much.
He will be lovingly remembered by these family members as well as extended family, and many faithful friends.
