Casey was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 19, 1976, to Teri Mendoza and the late Kelly Coulson. He graduated from Belton High School in Belton, Missouri, and earned his RN from the University of Texas at Arlington. Casey was fortunate to live out his passion for people in his career as a Registered Nurse. He was an avid Royal’s fan and loved fishing, golfing, bowling, and most of all being with his family and friends. Casey faithfully served with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and was especially dedicated to advocating for children and young adults with disabilities after the birth of his son Jackson.
Casey is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marcy, and their children Jackson, Claire, Kate, and Kennedy Coulson; siblings Stacey Nash and husband Keith, Shawn Hart and husband Gary, Jacob Alvarado, and Johnnie McDonald and wife Ana; mother Teri McDonald and husband John; grandmother Beverly Mendoza; and “Texas parents” Sharon Jackson and Larry Jackson. Casey was preceded in death by his father, Kelly Coulson.
A celebration of Casey’s life will be held at First United Methodist Church of Mansfield on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at 2:00pm. The family requests that visitors wear royal blue or Kansas City Royal’s gear to honor Casey’s memory. Memorial contributions may be made to the Coulson Girls’ College Fund.
