Angel Colon no longer has to imagine what it will be like to walk by God's side. On Friday, April 26th, 2024 Angel was surrounded by God's glory.
Born in Manhattan, NY, on September 30th,1960 to Angel Manuel Colon Sr. and Teofila Ocasio. Angel grew up in Cayay PR. Angels' brothers and sisters left behind are Vicente Leon Ocasio, Leslie Ivette Leon, Herbie Leon Ocasio, Carlos Leon Ocasio, Pedro Angel Colon and Diana Lynn Colon.
After High School Angel enlisted in the US Army. Throughout his 20 years of service Angel received many medals and honors such as the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Nation Defense Service Medal, Expert Marksmanship Qualification badge with Pistol bar and US Army gold recruiter badge (with 2 sapphire achievement stars). Angel also deployed where he served time overseas in both Korea and Germany. He was honorably discharged with a Rank of Sergeant First Class at the end of his service.
Angel retired from the Arlington School District in early 2024. He founded and was a proud business Owner of " Angel's Comfort" HVAC business.
Angel also served as a believer in Christ Jesus, he was always ready to witness to anyone who would take the time to listen. He would encourage friends in need to go to church and seek God for life's answers. He drew many to know Christ as their Savior. Grace, he received and grace he showed, for by Grace we are saved. Grace alone.
He lived his life modeling the love of God. All were drawn to him for his kindness, patience, sense of humor and willingness to take the time to listen, laugh and sometimes dance with them. Friends loved him for his infectious laughter, his kind heart and bold truth. Angel was also a member of the '' Nice Guys" club. Where in his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the club of whom its members he also considered his friends.
Angel also spent many weekends and trips with " The Royal Family" Anthony and Jennifer Salas, Fernando and Alexandria Perez, and his wife Rachel Colon. This friend group was the definition of true friends. They were inseparable rotating weekends at their homes to gather for dinner, laughter and fun.
Angels' legacy is his children, their children and their children's children. He loved and adored them all. He leaves behind his children, Alice Colon, Angel Colon Jr, Anthony Colon, Christian Parker, Mia and Mac Colon and his daughter through marriage Aubree Hernandez. His Grandchildren; Nevaeh Colon, Noa McElwee, Cruz McElwee. And lastly his Great grandchild, Elias Isaac.
Angel also leaves behind the love of his life; his wife Rachel LeAnn Colon. Rachel was the joy of his life. They enjoyed every minute together with laughter and love. Their love for each other was undeniable. They were inseparable. They lived their best life together. Rachel finds comfort in knowing the faith and love for Our Lord and Savior they shared will bring them together again.
A visitation for Angel will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, Texas 76016. A committal service & military honors will occur Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75211. A reception to follow at the colon residence @ 3pm will occur Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
