Mary Lee Woods, 94, was born on October 18, 1928, in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Sarah (nee Miceli) Gariti. She died Monday, January 2, 2023, at The Landing on Dundee, in Wheeling, Illinois.

Mary is survived by her children Susan Woods; Karen Kelly; Marie Woods-Petitti; Katherine Woods (Ron White) and her grandchildren Denielle Kelly; Michael Kelly; Geoffrey Lindsell; Amanda Lindsell; Stephanie Lindsell (Robert Waymel); Peter Petitti; Rachel Petitti; Nicholas Petitti; and by her greatgrandson Cash ("Bambino").

Mary was preceded in death by her husband John G. Woods; son Jonathan Woods; parents, Joseph and Sarah Gariti and her sister Benedetta.

Mary was the widow of John G. Woods, who had been a long time Village President of Arlington Heights so she served for several years as First Lady of Arlington Heights. She actively supported him in this and many other community and civic roles, accompanying him to many functions.

Mary was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed decorating her home; ceramics; cooking; shopping; playing cards; tennis and traveling. She was a gracious hostess and loved entertaining her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Monday, January 9, 2023 at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, 440 South Mitchell Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
