Margaret E. Dougherty

Margaret was a graduate of St. Ignatius Grammar School and Marywood High School and she and her husband Eugene were very active long time parishioners of St. James Church.

Margaret spent 10 years working at Talman Savings and Loan. She was devoted to her family, treasuring her time spent together, especially enjoying the holidays and marathon card games.

Margaret was married for 55 years to her beloved husband, the late Eugene Dougherty; loving mother of Gene (Cindy) Dougherty, Joanne (John) Fox, Kathleen Hopkins, Mary Darmofal, James (Deborah) Dougherty and Timothy (Rebecca Robertson) Dougherty; cherished grandmother of Brian (Laura) Fox, Christopher (Kelly) Fox, Catherine (Mike) McCarthy, Megan (Kevin) Starr, Annie (Mike) VonLunen, Sarah (Dan) Sebastian, Matt Darmofal, Katie (Conrad Isenhour) Hopkins, Joseph Dougherty, Margaret (Evan) Lange, Nick Dougherty, Danielle Dougherty, Michael Dougherty and Andie Dougherty; great-grandmother of Jane, Andrew, McKennan, Isla, Bennett, Hazel, Maeve, Patrick, Kane, Colten, Theo, Ben, Eleanor and Molly and dear sister of the late Frank Goodrich, Ray Goodrich and Bob Goodrich.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Margaret that will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024 from 9:00 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 831 North Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
