Amy Louise Sonderegger, 59 of Palatine, died peacefully on October 3, 2024.
Born on August 4, 1965 in Columbus, Indiana to Bob and Anita (nee Scaggiari) Tosti, Amy was known for her helpful nature and her zest for life.
Amy grew up the middle child of three sisters. She graduated from Columbus North High School and attended Hanover College in Madison, Indiana, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She relocated to the Chicago area taking a position as an underwriter, then as a field trainer with Allstate Insurance. She met her husband, Dave, at First Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights. She was loved by her coworkers and students alike who were drawn to her calming presence and infectious personality.
Amy was a proud member of P.E.O. Chapter IX for many years, eventually serving as Chapter President. She also took up yoga and later became a Certified Yoga Instructor, teaching classes with the Palatine Park District. She enjoyed travelling, running, knitting, seeing Broadway shows, gardening, baking, and red wine.
She especially loved spending time with her family, including her three cats, Jill, Tiger, and Lily.
She is survived by her husband Dave, her children Kristen and Brian, her father Bob (Glenna) Tosti, and her sisters Lee Ann (Dane) Wallsmith and Beth Tosti, as well as numerous extended friends and family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anita.
