William "Bubbie" A. Garrett, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord at 1:50pm on 29 September 2021 at Forsyth Medical Center. He died peacefully with his loving wife Diane by his side.
Bubbie was born 11 November 1962 in Thomasville NC to Fred and Alma Garrett. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred; mother, Alma; brother, Fred Jr and baby brother, JB.
He is survived by wife of 20 plus years, Diane Gross Garrett. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren; daughter, Linda "Sissy" Bolton and husband Wayne along with their children, Megan and DJ Foglesong and their two children, Layton and Baylee; granddaughter, Jacki and husband Jason Wooten and their son Ben; grandchildren, Selena, Trent , Terry and Joshua; son, Bobby and wife Amanda Jennings with their son, Cooper; daughter, Bridget with her children, Nicole, Barry, Rocky, Heather and Gabrielle.
Additionally he is survived by his Brothers and Sisters: Patricia "Sissy" and husband Alvin Bailey of Denton; Morris "Joker" Garrett and wife Rose Brink of Thomasville; Pete and wife Tammie Garrett of Lexington; Kay Brinkley and husband Tim Causey of Asheboro; Lisa and husband Nick Steele of Claremont; Eddie and wife Rosa Ferguson of Lexington.
He had 31 Nieces and 27 Nephews.
Bubbie was self-employed and worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Central Recycling in Thomasville. Anyone who knew Bubbie was touched by his kindness and love for his family. There was no stronger love than Bubbie’s love for his family. He never met a person or child that he did not like. His wife, brothers/sisters, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews had a special place in his heart and he always was there when they needed him. He was always known as the Candy man to his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be missed more than words can say.
Even though Bubbie was taken too soon, he lived an extraordinary life surrounded by people who loved him.
