Tim was a graduate of McIver School and attended Wild and Free at The Arc of High Point, where he had many friends who adored him. While at The Arc, Tim enjoyed creative arts, fitness, karaoke, and gardening, and had the opportunity to volunteer at United Way where he loved to label books and envelopes. He was also very active in the Special Olympics, participating in bocce ball, bowling, cycling, track and field, and softball skills. He loved to go out to dinner with friends and family, and some of his favorite foods were chicken pot pie, hamburgers, and hummus. He especially loved ice cream and M&M’s, and celebrating his birthday with cake.
Tim was very active in the High Point community and regularly attended Parks and Recreation’s Camp Ann, supper club, and dances. Jeff and James ensured Tim had endless possibilities to experience a meaningful life including travel, Rocker’s Baseball games, cruises, Disney World, and the beach. Tim had a love for newspapers, and often grabbed any flyers or brochures available while out in the community. Tim was a ray of sunshine who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tim is survived by Jeff, James, and John who he lived with for 24 years, his sisters Dorna and Belinda, his niece Ashley, and his nephew Adam, as well as his great nieces Alexis and Riley Lewis and great nephew Justin Lewis. The family would also like to thank Rha for their kind service.
A Celebration of Timothy’s life will be held at Deep River Friends Meeting on Friday July 26 at 2pm by Pastor Scott Wagoner. Family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Special Olympics of High Point or the ARC of High Point.
