Ann Tucker Spivey, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side after three years of declining health.
Ann was born July 30, 1941 in Robeson County and grew up in Troy. She was a 1959 graduate of Troy High School. Ann then moved to High Point in 1960 and later met and married Edward E. Spivey, who preceded her in death in 2011. She retired from Thompson-Arthur Paving/APAC after many years of service. Ann then began a second career in real estate, first with Century 21 and later Joyce Kinley Realty. She was a member of the Archdale congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses for over forty years. Ann loved reading, having read thousands of books. She loved to gather with her family and friends over a cup of coffee and was an avid Scrabble player!
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Barbara Sibbitt; two grandchildren, Jamie and Amy Sibbitt; five siblings, Lena Thompson, J.C. Tucker, Junior Tucker, Sue Tucker, and Dick Tucker.
Surviving are a son, Mark Spivey and his wife Missy; a daughter, Sharon Chadwell and her husband Phillip (Chad); six grandchildren, Windy Sibbitt, Craig, Derek, Jared and Rachel Chadwell, and Carol Spivey; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; a brother in law, Jerry Spivey and a son in law, James Sibbitt.
