Robert Scott Nygaard

He was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on January 15, 1957. He grew up in Chadron, Nebraska, with his father Bob, mother Marian, sister Jaynie, and brothers Tom and Mark. They moved to Barstow in 1966, where he attended Kennedy High School. They moved to Apple Valley in 1977. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in 1991. Scott had a long tenure with the phone company, starting as an operator with Contel and returning from management with Verizon.

He is survived by his brother Tom (and wife Jenny), brother Mark (and wife Aileen), and daughter Veronica (husband Chad) and their son Ewan. A funeral service for Robert will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Sunset Hills Mortuary, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at External Service Location, 24000 Waalew Rd, Apple Valley, CA 92307. A reception will occur Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 24000 Waalew Road, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
