Marion L. Jones

Marion L. Jones, 91 of Apopka, FL and formerly of New Bedford, MA, passed away on May 12, 2017. She was born in New Bedford, MA on May 20, 1925 to Antonia and Emma (Kieselmann) Nicholaev. She worked for over 20 years at the New Bedford Standard Times and was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. After moving to Florida, she was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Maitland, FL. Marion was very active and loved to travel, paint and read. She served her church as a member of the Altar Guild. The pride of her life though was being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Noel D. Jones; her daughter, Nancy L. Jones, her parents Antonia E. and Emma (Kieselmann) Nicholaev and her brother, Frederick A. Nicholaev. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary L. Sliwa; her son-in-law Michael J. Sliwa, her grandsons: Michael J. Sliwa Jr. and wife Jennifer; David M. Sliwa and wife Melissa;; her great grandsons David M. Sliwa Jr. and Jacob A. Sliwa; her niece, Diana M. NIcholaev, her nephew Frederick A. Nicholaev Jr. and by her life long friend Dorothy Gammans. A Graveside service will be held at the Rural Cemetery, New Bedford, MA on Friday, May 19 at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, Memorial Fund, 331 Lake Avenue, Maitland, Fl., 32751
