11.3.43
My beloved husband went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 3, 1943. He was an incredibly devoted husband and father, and a gentle, spiritual man. To say he was an avid reader would be an understatement. Edward consumed books for both pleasure and knowledge – underscoring a desire to learn that never ebbed. Naturally, his favorite book of all was the Bible, which he scoured on a daily basis. And if he could do all this while fishing quietly on a lake- he would have considered that a perfect day!
Edward’s career in franchise operations and development for brands like Burger Chef, Ponderosa and Jiffy Lube were the backdrop for a full life. Later he developed a passion for real estate and sales and eventually he semi-retired here in Zellwood where he served as a monorail pilot at Walt Disney World for 13.5 years.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an active member in his church community, Edward is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sandi Smallman; his children Stacey and Chase (wife, Lee Ann) and granddaughters Reese Louise and Lily Renee. His sisters Barbara Peterson (husband, Jim), Claudia Peterson (husband, Dan) and brothers Warren (wife, Mary), Wayne (wife Bernie), Rick (wife, Ann) and by his devoted pets Sophie Sue and Rozi.
A celebration of Edward’s life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Rolling Hills Community Church in Zellwood, Florida.
