William "Bill" Ray Sears, 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at his home in Apex, NC, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born May 23, 1950 in New Hill, raised in Duncan and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He had a great passion for fishing and made countless friendships doing what he loved.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lacy Sears and sister-in-law, Cindy Sears.

Bill is survived by his mother, Doris Sears; wife of 35 years, Barbara Olive Sears; children, Joey Ferrell (Kim), Lorie Sears, Jason Sears (Jennie), Tori Porter and Melissa Sears; brothers, Calvin Sears (Brenda) and Mike Sears (Pam); eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Olive Chapel Baptist Church, 600 New Hill Olive Chapel Rd, Apex, NC 27502. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8pm Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St, Apex, NC 27502.
