He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Theresa Tremblay Clark; daughters, Heather Clark Simpson with husband Robert and Megan Clark Swink with husband Kevin. He will always be Pa to his grandchildren Henry, Philip, Alex and Anna Ross Simpson, Jackson and Grant Swink. Bonus grandson Robby and his wife Corey Ann Simpson and little ones Charlotte and Eleanor. Brother Donald Clark with wife Jeanette, his niece Courtney Clark Nier of Maryland and nephew Quinton Clark of Corning, NY.
Phil, or Clarkie as he was known as by most never meant a stranger. He was employed by Corning Glass works prior to moving to North Carolina to open his own machine Tool and Dye shop. As a skilled engineer, his love for fixing things, and his over the top personality, Phil spent the next 25+ years working as a general contractor for many homeowners, and REALTORS.
He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was playing softball with CGW team or fishing with the same group of men for the past 30+ years at Keuka Lake and the St. Lawrence River. If he wasn’t outside he was inside watching the Yankees or the Buffalo Bills. The past several years, Phil found happiness just sitting on the back deck, also known as his Cabana bar, growing tomatoes, listening to radios talk shows from the 1940’s, singing songs and playing with his fishing tackle.
He was the best fan, biggest supporter of the kids and knew all other fans by name. He loved watching his six grandkids play all and any sports. He traveled from Pennsylvania to Florida to Oklahoma to all cities in the state of NC to watch the kids play ball. These were the best days of his life.
In lieu of customary remembrances or flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Holly Springs High School Golden Hawks Booster Club where he spent many afternoons watching all 6 of his grandchildren play a variety of sports. Holly Spring High School, 5329 Cass Holt Rd, Holly Springs, NC 27540.
A memorial mass and burial will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 3008 Old Raleigh RD. Apex, NC. Interment at Church Columbarium.
