Nancy DeVito Cotter of Cary, North Carolina passed away on May 24, 2013 of complications following surgery. Nancy was born in Neptune, New Jersey on July 28, 1940 to the late Honorable D. Joseph and Marion (Dugan) DeVito. She spent her early years in New Jersey, where she graduated from St. Rose Grammar School and St. Rose High School in Belmar.
Nancy continued her education graduating from Rosemont College in Pennsylvania. She spent many years as the executive secretary to the president of a prestigious computer software company in New Jersey. She also resided in New York and Florida before relocating to Cary over six years ago to be near her loving family.
Nancy inherited a lifelong love and appreciation of music and dance from her parents. She enjoyed performing throughout her entire life even into her retirement years. All who were blessed to have known Nancy and her smiling face know that her greatest love and devotion was for her husband, family and friends.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Jack; her beloved sons, Tom (Jennifer) King and Corey (Melissa) King; stepson, John (Lisa) Cotter; her cherished grandchildren, Kristen, Samantha, Sasha and Shannon; dear sister, Karen DeVito (Bob) Hess; and loving sister-in-law, Michelle DeVito; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nephew, cousins, aunts and uncle. In addition to her parents, Nancy is also predeceased by her adored brother, Tom DeVito.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 804 High House Road, Cary on May 29, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nancy DeVito Cotter to St. Rose High School, 607 Seventh Avenue, Belmar, New Jersey 07719.
