I am happy that you are no longer in pain my friend. We listened to each other and you knew me pretty well. I look forward to seeing you again, and we will. You had such a wonderful soul and an amazing laugh when we joked around. You were, and always will be, my friend and brother.

He was a wonderful friend, a great father and a loving husband to his wife, Miriam, and his absence causes great pain to us all. When we think of Miguel, we reflect on all of the great memories our families shared together, his great sense of humor shining through even during difficult times. Heaven gained an angel who is now looking down on us, guiding us and protecting us just as he protected others during his time in the NYPD. We will always keep him in our hearts. 💙

Dear Miriam, Justin and Anthony,
Words can't express how sadden I am for the passing of your beloved Husband and father.   Miguel was a hero. His eyes would light up when he spoke of his family.  I now know why.  You are all an amazing family and I am  Honored to have met all of you.  Miguel touched so many lives in the very best way. I’m grateful I got the chance to know him as both a colleague and a friend.  Miguel "Tortugua"  what I called him, always came to work with a big smile and performed his duties with dignity and compassion.   May Miguel rest in peace and his memory live on forever.  Praying for all of you during this difficult time  and sending comforting hugs.

The last few days I’ve been trying to find the right words to convey how deeply saddened we are by the news of Miguel’s passing. Miguel protected and served on the NYPD for many years and dedicated his life to helping others. His personality was like no other, always cracking jokes and lightening the mood. He (along with Justin and Anthony) taught me how to play basketball and throw a football. Miguel also took me on my school trip canoeing down the Carmen’s River (anyone who knows us, must’ve heard this story by now )He didn’t want to hear about canoeing or McDonald’s chicken nuggets ever again after that day!  My earliest memories are spending summers, birthday’s, holidays, and weekends with the Torres family, Justin and Anthony became my brothers while Miguel and Miriam became my uncle and aunt. I will always cherish those memories. Miguel fought hard like he always has, but now he can be at peace. I hope he’s up there playing baseball, exercising, and eating all the delicious food he can imagine. My condolences to Miriam, Justin, Anthony and their family. I love you ❤️

I knew Miguel from when he worked at Lifetime Fitness overseeing the basketball area. 

Miguel was friendly, knew who everyone was, always kept the players in check, the teams balanced and didn’t take any attitude from anyone. We appreciated him and enjoyed interacting with him.  We’ve missed him since he left and we are sorry to hear about his passing.

Rest in peace Miguel and may God watch over and protect your family.

I remember when i first met miguel we were police officer in transit district 4. We quickly became friends and we worked together for a little while. We would talk for hours about how we would love to give our family a good life and good schools for our kids, that was important to us.  When sandy and i bought our 1st home in LI we all moved in together.  His dream to give his family a good life became a reality as well as for my family and I. I remember summers were fun especially for Miguel he would never pass up a BBQ,  hanging out in the pool with all the kids, and playing wiffle ball and taking the kids to the park the kids would love every minute of it. My kids loved Miggy and Miriam so much they were the 2nd set of parent to them. They loved and  procted my children as their own.

Miguel was a man of integrity, whose actions spoke louder than words.  He loved deeply, and he was deeply loved in return. He valued friendship and family above all else, and treated every person he met with kindness and respect.

Miguel's  life was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and kindness. As i remember him today, i will not focus on the loss, but on the life he lived, the love he shared, and the legacy he leaves behind. I  will honor him by living my life with the same kindness, passion, and love that he showed us every day.

Miguel and I shared the same teams Cowboys and Yanks. Our talks about these two teams at LFT was priceless. He kept the basketball court in check at LFT. My true condolences to the family.

Miguel was in my company. I remember him pushing me during the PE time. I could never jump over that wall. I remember him yelling and encouraging me. Eventually, I did it. We both were assigned to Dist 04. He was a great cop. Very active and loved what he did. I’m so sorry to hear about his passing.  May he rest in eternal peace.

Words don’t give any justice to who you are and they will never be enough to describe the incredible force you were on earth. You and Miriam took care of my brother and I from the time we were babies. Everytime I think of you and Miriam I feel at home. A sense of peace and love surround me whenever I look back on the memories we made as one big family. I remember your love for the Yankees and Cowboys. I’ll remember you taking us all outside to play wiffle ball, football, and handball at the park. The support you provided for my family is irreplaceable and we could never repay you for all that you did. We will cherish who you were on earth and miss you, but now we find a little peace knowing that you’re making heaven a brighter place. Thank you for being a second father figure to Daniel and I. I will never forget you and forever will be thankful for your presence in our lives. You raised amazing boys and I know they will continue to make you proud. My condolences to the entire Family and friends!
Miguel will be greatly missed.  We worked  and stayed together for over 20 years Not only was it an experience but a privilege and truly fun. We became great friends and even car pool buddies.
It turned out that our children even knew each other  as they attended the same school district. I’m going to miss him and his funny laugh!

Miguel was the most kindest and selfless human being one could of ever met. I am beyond grateful that the entire Torres family have been a part of my life since I was a child. He truly was a father figure to me. I knew I can always count on him with any issues I had to face, as well as Miriam and the boys. And for that I say thank you Miguel for everything that you have done for me and my family. We love you dearly. Until we see each other again. I hope you and mommy are dancing salsa up in heaven. Uncle Miguel was the most caring son, uncle, father and husband. Over the years he was more like a 2nd father to many of us. Always looking out for all his nephews and nieces.  As a kid I remember taking walks with him to the corner deli and buying oatmeal cookies and by the time we got back to the apartment the cookies were gone. I have so many fond memories of him. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. RIP tio Migel.

Although I did not have many opportunities to have a conversation with Miguel, I considered him as a friend because he was a part of the Zumba family. I thought how blessed Miriam was that she and Miguel could attend Zumba classes together.
With my deepest sorrow I offer my condolences to the Torres family for a tremendous loss. The Lord called Miguel home because his work on earth was done
