Frances was born on July 1, 1919 in Chatham County to the late Coy Livingston and Willie Council Johnson. She graduated from Apex High School and worked for many years in Apex as a dental assistant for Dr. Eddy Clark. She was a member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church. We are left with a lifetime of precious memories of our loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Vance Gargis; brothers, Cary C. Johnson; John Dorsey Johnson; and Vance Wallace Johnson; husband, Sam Kenneth Womble; and husband, John Paul Gargis.
Frances is survived by a daughter, Ann Coleman and husband, Jim of Kernersville; granddaughters, Kelly Carter and husband Preston of Kernersville; Julie Mosher and husband, Alan of Kernersville; and Melissa Pullen and husband Jeffrey of Ashburn, VA; great-grandsons, Landon and Aiden Carter; and Cole and Will Mosher. She is also survived by several nieces.
A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Olive Chapel Baptist Church, 600 New Hill-Olive Chapel Road, Apex, NC 27502. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. A private burial will follow in the church cemetery.
