Margie was born November 8, 1956 in Woodbury, NJ to the late Alton and Frances Kmitas Abbott. One of twelve siblings, she graduated Gloucester Catholic High School in 1975, and attended Rowan University, Toledo University and Ohio State University. She had a strong faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, and devotion to his mother, Mary. She married William Luke in October, 1978 at Church of the Incarnation in Mantua. She was an extraordinary wife to William, and a devoted mother to her two sons, Michael and Jeffrey. She loved her job as a data analyst at Pepsi Bottling Ventures, Raleigh. She was parishioner at St Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church since 2008, where she was always willing to provide a hot meal to the church’s Migrant Workers Dinners.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Frances, sisters Doris, Barbara, Jeanne, and Susan.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 38 years, William; two beloved sons Michael (Kara), Jeffrey, 8 month old grand baby, Eliza, sisters Mary, Therese, Bernadette, Elizabeth, Frances, and brothers Joseph and John.
North Carolina: The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Apex Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials in Margie’s name be made to Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh.
