Lorraine McGuire

Lorraine was born on June 21, 1946, in Long Island City, New York to her parents, Patrick and Betty Murphy. She is preceded in death by Patrick and Betty Murphy and close friends Barbara Murphy and Diane McCarthy.

Lorraine is lovingly remembered by her children, Lauren Gillette, Kristin McGuire, Sean McGuire, Carolyn and spouse Brian Tauscher. Laurie is forever remembered by her devoted grandchildren; Claire Gillette, Corey Brula and spouse Elijah Brula, Caitlyn Gillette, Kassandra McGuire, Danielle McGuire, Noelle Tauscher, Lanae Tauscher, and Jace Tauscher. Laurie is survived by her siblings Madeline Singer, Veronica Murphy, Patrice Murphy and spouse Jeff Layton and Patrick and spouse Cheri Murphy along with many nieces and nephews.

Laurie was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. She lived to find joy with her family and friends. Laurie enjoyed traveling the world, exploring restaurants and shopping. She loved entertaining family and friends for the holidays (especially Christmas) and took much joy in decorating and watching her children, grandchildren and friends open their many gifts. Laurie had a passion for design and decoration. All who knew her appreciated the care and craftsmanship with which she prepared the gifts she gave. She was such a loving, giving, and generous person with a beautiful soul, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Before retiring Laurie worked for Peabody Properties Incorporated based out of Braintree Massachusetts for over 25 years. She worked her way up from a Senior Property Manager to Vice President of Compliance and Administration all while raising 4 children. She belonged to the National Associations of Realtors and held a position at NEHMA in her younger years. She oversaw all of compliance for the HUD Programs/and the HOME and LIHTC Programs and also wrote Tenant Selection and Affirmative Housing Plans.

A celebration of life for Lorraine will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. The family will receive friends and guests with light refreshments to follow the service from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
