Laura Marie Duncan

Laura Marie Duncan, 53 of Cary, passed away on December 16, 2021 in Cary, NC.

Laura, a native of Detroit, MI, was born on February 29, 1968 to her father, John White and her late mother, Mary Ellen White (Hanley).

In addition to her mother, she is also preceded in death by her niece, Natalie White.

She is survived by her children, Sarah, Will, and Matt Duncan, former spouse, John Duncan, her father, John White, her brother, Terry White, and his wife Kathy and their daughter, Chloe.

Laura lived her teenage years in various cities in California. She graduated from Marin Catholic High School in 1985. She returned to Ann Arbor, Michigan in the early 90’s, where she attended Eastern Michigan University, married, and started a family. In 2006, the family relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, and then to Apex/Cary area of North Carolina in 2010, where she resided until her passing. Laura was an active member in the local school system as a substitute teacher, Administrative Assistant, and valued PTA member.

Laura loved the beach, cats, candles, books, and above all else, being a mom. Her smile, personality, and charisma lit up the room. Her love for her family was immeasurable, unconditional, and unforgettable. She will be dearly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. The family will greet guests following the service until 4:30 PM.
