Julia Caroline Soucy

Caroline was born on November 6, 1932, in Hopkinton, Rhode Island to the late Peter and Jane Palmer. She is survived by her beloved sister, Ethel Blanchard, of Westerly. R.I.

Caroline was married to her loving husband, the late Robert W. Soucy Sr, for more than 55 years. Prior to moving to North Carolina, the family lived in Fairport, NY, Lake Mohawk NJ, and Swartswood, NJ. While in New Jersey the Soucys were long time members of Newton Country Club. In addition to golf, they enjoyed skiing and hiking with friends and family, and picnics with their grandchildren. Caroline enjoyed watching baseball and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. Caroline was also passionate about playing duplicate bridge, and as a ruby life master she enjoyed competing in tournaments with her close friends.

Caroline is lovingly remembered by her children, Robert Soucy, Jr. (Shirley Bauer) of Hackettstown, NJ, Cindy Whitcomb (Charles Banik) of Hammondsport, NY, Deborah Soucy of Raleigh, NC, Diane (Bill) McNelis of Lancaster, PA; her grandchildren, Justin (Kate) Whitcomb, Nathan Whitcomb, Katie (Bryan) Merce, Carrie (Kevin) Reavy, Megan Soucy (Dom Mangino), Melissa Soucy (Nicole Udovich); and great grandchildren, Brayden, Rorie, and Ashlynde Whitcomb, and Maple Mangino.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Apex Funeral Home with a brunch reception to follow from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
